Why doesn't People's United Bank have an iPhone app or a mobile website for checking balance?

I enjoy peoples banks customer service but they are lacking in technology. There is no App or Mobile website to access on a cell phone when wanting to know your balance. Does anyone know alternative ideas or when they will add this feature to there customers?

service-add must be payed by the consumers, that is america's law.
so do not tell us that it could be usefull !
the right idea, maybe a reality in few days/months or years, is to allow everyone
to access in bank-account from only one box, in selfservice.
microsoft is near of this project and also another banks.
so, cellphone or not, (wi-max will connect you), all the accounts will be in the same place as virtual money.
Of course, you will want to know your balance several times per day and whith a watch or a badge, you will it. But all that, will be falsenumbers in a numericsystem, so impossible to be really usefull.
The only balance is the + and the - in the owners of the bank.
I do not think you should wish too much technology, exept if you are sure that it is for you, and only for you, and that i doubt a little.

The App is now available at m.peoples.com (from your mobile device) or just by searching the Apple App store and Android Marketplace.
