How to become a missouri home inspector

I am needing some help. Missouri doesn't require a license for home inspectors. So do I get my certification through ASHI or InterNACHI or whoever and then start working or am I missing something? I just fear I will put in all of this time, money and work and screw up and forget something. I see all of these online colleges offering courses at all kinds of prices and I wonder if thats even necessary. Missouri doesn't even require a state test for inspectors. I just want to do this right and start my new career knowing that I am completely legal and legitimate. Thanks for any help. I'm not looking for any colleges so please don't hit me up with trying to get me to sign up for online education!!
