I feel like I'm depressed for no reason.

I don't know if anyone's ever felt like this but ive felt depressed for about a month now and the thing is, there's no actual reason. I don't ever leave the house unless its for school. I'm constantly in a bad mood and I just hate being around people because it annoys me when I see how happy they are. I keep snapping at people and I often pretend to need to go to the bathroom just to be alone. I hide in the library during breaks and I dread going to class because I just hate being around people. The other day I was in a really crappy mood and my brother kinda poked his head in my room and told me to get up and walk the dog and I just got so anxious because I didn't want to leave the house. I don't eat because I constantly feel sick and a few days ago I thought about self-harming but I literally had to stop and say to myself 'what the fuck is wrong with you?'. I didn't lose anyone, I haven't been in a traumatic incident or anything like that. The only "bad" thing in my life is school stress but god it feels like i'm living in a dark hole and I don't know how to get out. My mum is constantly telling me to 'get my shit together' and to stop acting sad 'for attention' and it's really bothering me because I want to tell her that I'm not okay but I also don't know why I'm not okay. I have no idea if im just being dramatic or if I have some anger issues or if like this is common I just really want it to stop. Please let me know if you've ever felt like this.
