I was renting with my friend so I could save money for my own apt well at first the landlord had said no cause he doesn't want to rent to people with kids So I searched and searched until I had found a place and when I mentioned moving he had realized he's apartments we're empty and it was down to just My friend and I in one apt. So he decided theres no reason to move Id bring the kids up and get nicer upstairs apt rents 100 more but he wouldn't charge me a deposit so I brought kids home and all was good for the next 4 to 5 month. When the landlord Decides a downstairs apartment for a hundred less was better for me and my kids. "sure I said" cause it was winter and work is slow so I move downstairs and was settling in when landlord say I need to pay a deposit of 900 and my rent was 900 exactly what it was upstairs which he switched upstairs to 1000.00 and within the four months of living downstairs my dishwasher breaks he says he has no money to fix it and I could live without it on top of not changing Itout the carpets or cleaning them from the previous renters he also told me he would subtract painting from my rent so I painted the entire apt. about 6 months after that the dryer and he says to replace it myself and he'd refund me never happened then within n a month of the dryer breaking the washer broke I stoped paying rent on time and replaced it I at that point was falling behind but I paid up with my tax return then 2 days before thanks giving my oven broke and he told me to take it apart and fix it and at some point we had the upstairs neighbor bringing in mattress from the dumpster into their Apartment and soon were complaining about bedbugs but I hadn't seen any so I didn't it wasn't till my daughter was getting eaten alive every night that I realized the extent of the infestation it was bad. Then he starts saying I'm falling Behind again. And had stoped given me receipts when I asked for receipts he told me he was sending them to Allen’s phone so now in starting to think Allen is spending our rent money and throwing away the receipts till one day he bought a receipt book and when we made payment he handed him a receipt and asked for him to sign our copy which he angrily disapproved. Then drove away Allen is my kids father. And 3 months after paying my rent all the way up to zero due to the 900 dollar deposit and 2 months of rent in total I owed close to 4000.00 I know my math is bad but9+9+9+9=4000.00 and that was minus a washer, a dryer, and lawn maintenance 2 complete remodels on the upstairs apartments the painting and bathroom remodel on our payment and 3 large weatherized windows in 2 different apartments the furnace replacement plumbing in the nieghbors apartment electrical in ours plus changing out the bathroom sink and fixing. We've done all the maintenance on our apartment and even some on others because he told us to and he would take it off the rent we have no legal documentation either what's going to happen we go a notice to quit
