My mom is sendingme to a house I don't want to be at would it be illegal to go back to my own house?

I am 17 years old and my mom is going to be gone for a week so she's sending my to a house for the week. But I don't want to be there could I just go back to my house if my dad is there??? My dad works late nights but would that still be okay? Like legal??
