Our lunch break is from 12:30pm to 1:20pm, and my school have recently introduced a new 'pastoral' detention, that is from 12:30pm to 1:15pm, leaving only 4 or 5 minutes to eat or go to the toilet... is this legal? I looked it up, and it said that schools can impose lunchtime detentions, as long as they left 'reasonable' time for students to eat, drink, and go to the toilet - but there are no definitions of 'reasonable time' - anybody know how long, because personally, I think they are making them far too long... thanks in advance,
Alex
