What's the best way to make my Magnaflow exhaust louder?

I had a magnaflow exhaust put on my 91 Silverado 5.7l v8. Manifolds to y pipe, to single 3 inch pipe runs to the muffler under the truck bed. I had a single turn down ran directly from the back of the muffler. I wasn't necessarily looking for "loud" but had hoped it would be louder than it is. At an idle, or when I rev it, I can actually hear the engine over the exhaust. How can I make it louder? What if I run a y pipe from the back of the muffler and run dual out with tips? If so, should I use 2 or 3 inch pipe for this?
