There are many different reasons why people continue to feel compelled to take heroin and alcohol such as a need to escape a variety of conditions or to experience the initial euphoria and relaxation after the dose. ALcohol addiction is an extremely serious illness. Although many people take alcohol for the first time out of curiosity or for a need to reduce extreme stress/anxiety or pain, it can start them down a very destructive path. Many lives have been destroyed as a result of heroin addiction. The withdrawal symptoms are extremely heavy and the risks and negative side effects that heroin can place on the body over time can be considerable.
