My senior cat stopped eating?

I have a senior cat, 19 yrs. old, and has gastro issues. she was recently was hospitalized and stopped eating. She is home now, but we can't get her to start eating again. Can certain meds be the cause. It might be an underlying disease also, considering all of her medical issues. Any advice is most appreciated.

Senior cats can be tough, trust me I know! 😄 When our sixteen year old cat decided to go through a bout of not wanting to eat, we gave him kitten food. Kitten food is much tastier to your cat if he is not already eating wet food. Although if you are only giving your kitty dry food I would try wet food. If your kitty is also having trouble gaining weight than I would suggest the wet kitten food. But if your kitty is obese, over weight, or coming close to being overweight I would not suggest giving him or her kitten food because of how rich it is. If your kitty is at its target weight than I would give him or her kitten food with caution. But firstly and most importantly I advice that you consult your veterinarian. Good luck!
