Can app developers see your PERSONAL details?

So, I played a joke at work on one of our work apps, but I did not realize they would take it so seriously and they said they would track who it was by using the IP, IMEI number and phone number. I did it all on the work Wifi on my phone. Surely they cant see anything except maybe the IP of the wifi? They cant be that smart just a bunch of IT guys in an office...
