How can I talk go a guy I'm interested in?

I've been attracted to this guy since I was 8 years old. His parents and my parents are really good friends. I've never talked to him because I'm too shy or that I might say something stupid. Ive caught him staring at me quite a couple times. We are now in high school and have three classes together. I cant ask him if we can hang out because we're both busy with school and work. I really want to get to know him, but I'm way too shy and I just don't know what to do. Any advice?

I'd suggest casually trying to get into a conversation with him. Considering you're in some of his classes, do have any mutual friends that you could possible stand in the same circle as him with? Even when doing something like handing out sheets or walking around the school, smile at him whenever you have the opportunity. It doesn't have to be big, just even a shy small smile.
