Book about girl in Dutch house in Bklyn museum?

i am trying to remember a book about a girl who went back in time and lived in the Schenck house, now in the Brooklyn museum, when New York was still New Amsterdam. She slept in the bed that was built into the wall with the curtain drawn across it. I think there was a scene about her feeding chickens, and the title may have had the word "rose" in it. i'm desperate to remember it!
