What are some good during the day first date ideas?

A man and I 'met' on an online dating site.
He has booked a hotel room,as he is coming from England (I live in Scotland). So we have decided to meet and spend the day together. I just need some nice ideas for the day. So far Iv just thought of breakfast at a cool bakehouse and dinner. Sounds awful but I JUST DONT KNOW what to do in between.
He is 40 Im 26. Him coming to my house or I to his hotel is out. So we need to spend a good clean day together. I really like the sound of him so any ideas? Edinburgh is cold too to be out and about.
