Surge protectors

Will a surge protector protect my computer even if it is not grounded.

In my house many of the wall sockets are not three pronged. I can plug three prong items in with an adapter, but that doesn't truly ground them. I am wondering if a surge protector will still protect my computer, since I really don't know how to rewire the house.

Not really. You could have an electrician rewire stuff or run a wire to a metal pole driven into the ground outside as a last resort.

But it will stop surges, or at least try to.
