Why is my Samsung DLP cracking old lamp and new lamp?

I have a Samsung 50 inch DLP tv that went out on me recently with the flashing LED errors in front. I opened up the back panel and took out the lamp and noticed that the lamp was spider web cracked all over. So I bought a replacement lamp, installed it, and the TV worked again for about a half hour and then it shut off with the same LED lights flashing in the front. I took the new lamp out and noticed it had cracked and blown out again. The area of the TV the bulb was facing and touching was extremely hot. So basically I'm guessing the amount of heat is destroying these lamps. My question is, is this a cooling fan issue for sure? Or could it be caused by the color wheel or something else? It might be worth it to me buying a new cooling fan for 20 bucks but not a color wheel or anything that is more expensive. Thanks for any insight!
