Can I donate my hair to a charity if I get it cut at a salon?

Hi everyone!

I have fairly long hair (down to my waist) and I decided about two weeks ago to get it cut. I am really committed to this decision, and am planning on getting it cut this week.

However, I really want to donate my hair to a charity (not Locks of Love, because if you read up on it, it actually is a lot worse than it seems. You can research it if you want). I want to get my hair cut so it looks really nice, but will the salon do the required previous steps (put hair into ponytail and cut) and then trim it so it looks the way I want it to?

get it cut normal and ask if they could just sweap it up and give it too you x
