In my opinion it would be better for him to buy you a ticket because it is him who should invite you, if he does not just ask him about that
So now could you please answer my question about comedies, if you want of course, thanks in advance

I wouldn't just go and buy a ticket. I would talk to him first and ask him if he just wants to go alone or what the situation is. You also have to look at how long you've been together; months to a year? He may not feel close enough to you yet to involve you in family affairs. Have you been together for years? Then there may be an issue here whether the relationship isnt doing well in one area or there's just a part of him visiting he hasn't explained yet. He may also just be trying to save you two money or feels like itd be imposing for you to fly out for him. In any case, just be up front and ask him. Communication is everything in a relationship. Don't let yourself get upset and worried and make up scenarios. If it's nothing big and he genuinely respects your concern, he won't be upset.
