I cant Send Emails

I have a hotmail account and for the last few days I cant send emails from my laptop using my hotmail account.
I have linked my emails to my smartphone and I can send emails using that account on there, it's just my computer.
It doesn't even go to the page to compose emails. it just stays on my inbox. I can open emails I have, download attachments and receive new emails. Just not send them.
