Do eye doctors check for retinal tears in a normal eye test/examination?

Hello I've been noticing floaters in my eye and the eye with floaters is weaker than my other. I just had a regular eye doctor appointment and was wondering if they check for that automatically. Just wanting to know if im overeating or not thanks.
