What famous people had their schooling paid for/and or helped with costs?

I need to find at least one famous person who had their schooling costs (private and or college, etc.) paid for or helped paid for by some kind of donator, and with that one who helped further America in some way. It seems like I have heard people like this but I can't remember any names; any help would be great, thanks!
