Is it bad I like someone two years older then me?

Hey so I'm in 8th grade ( I'm 14 almost 15) and I like a guy who is in tenth ( 16) and I was wondering is that bad? Like I really like him and it seems like he feels the same but I was just wondering. YES he acts like he likes me but the only problem is we have never talked but he acts like he kinda wants to but is it bad I like a guy two years older and why hasn't he approached me? Help! Thanks! :))
