What does this tell you about a European woman that lives in the United States? She gets pregnant with an American man, and gives birth in Europe in order to prevent a child custody battle with an American father in US courts. She moves back to the USA, but gives custody of her daughter to her cousin in Europe, but gets a European court order that say that her daughter that is born in Europe can not leave Europe (visit the USA before her 18 birthday). The courts in Europe also rule that the American father is not allowed to see his daughter. The US family court judge told the American father, that under US law, US court have no legal jurisdiction over paternity/visitation but he has to pay 18 years of court ordered child support, even if the mother lives in the United States in the same US State/county that the court is located. The mother still speaks to her daughter on the phone every day and visits her every year.
