How come I can't connect to public minecraft servers on my own wifi but I can on other wifi's?

I can connect to public minecraft servers (such as hive and hypixel) on my laptop when I am using any other Internet but my own, it just says cant reach server, for what possible reasons could this be?

Your internet might have a restriction on incoming connections. Check your internet or ask your parents about it if you don't know what i'm talking about :P
