Problem with a game! SIMS 2

i've got a cd of the sims 2 pets(5 in 1), I bought it long time ago, I used to install and uninstall it often. since I have windows 7, I think it would be a problem. now when I install it and click on the icon "the sims 2 pets" for play it shows me an error that CD-ROM is not found. I tried clicking on the icon "the sims 2" then it's worse, shows an error that game stopped working. WTF????????? I seriously missing that game, would like to play when I am on my vacation :/

it seams to me that your games is corrupted, I can suggest that you back up your save data's, uninstall and then re install again if this still happens you may have to download a backup copy of the game cd from the internet but use your same activation key on your game box to play the game legally,(seams like software corruption)
