Help with my usb cable!

My android phone reconizes the usb cable, so I press "Turn on USB storage". Apparently, it connects to the computer, but I have noticed the file is a different name. It also says that I can't get into the file because, "This File is Corrupt!". Can someone that is more tech savvy help me with this?

My guess is the phrase, "Turn on USB storage" is saying it is looking for a memory stick/flash drive, not a computer.
