Is this just binging or what?

So, I have days where is eat loads, not in front of anyone, normally alone, I don't like people knowing/watching me eat, then after I feel so bad, and just hardly eat anything for a couple of weeks and also do alot of exercise, this week I ate 4 meals, and I almost fainted in school, then I binged again today, I can't help it, and it makes me so depressed. Its been going on for a while, is this a problem, what is the name for it

it's bulimia. you can get help from a therapist, I think they use something called cognitie behavior therapy, to get you back to not hating yourself for eating and everything.

It isn't bulimia; she didn't mention vomiting.

... But it certainly sounds like an eating disorder. Your thinking about food sounds emotional and irrational... and dangerous for your help.

I agree you need to talk to someone. You're obviously harming your body if you're nearly fainting.

Developing an eating disorder while still school age can be disastrous. You could be weakening your bones and heart. You could also be damaging your ovaries, etc. If you let this go far enough, you could stop your reproductive system from fully developing and wreck your chances of having children in the future.

Talk to the people at www.crisischat.org. They can help you locate resources.

I strongly recommend you talk to your parents and guidance counselor.

Get help taking better care of yourself with proper nutrition while you still can.

There's an awesome British series called "Supersize Vs. Superskinny." You can watch all 6 seasons on YouTube ( http://www.youtube.com/user/ErmmTV2/videos?view=1 ). This can help you get some perspective, and there's good information about the damage you're doing to your body... and it's quite entertaining.
