Explain the regional weather differences between you two cities.

Explain the regional weather differences between you two cities. Possible explaination for your region may include: distance from the equator, lake effect, wind currents, proximity to volcanoes, mountain ranges, elevation etc. Be sure to explain what thesse effects are and how they affect the climate in the cities you have chosen.
The cities I have chosen to track for 20 days are Toronto and (San Jose, Costa Rica.)
I know that costa rica is much closer to the equator not sure how much though. I also don't know what it means by proximity to volcanoes, mountain ranges and elevation as I have tried to search but was unsuccessful.
Please Help!
