Does age matter? (In high school?)

When you date someone, does age matter in high school? I used to like this guy and he was a year younger than me. I told my friends and they just gave me this look like dafuq. Now he's attending the same high school as me for the 2013-14 year. If I do end up liking him again, is that weird/not normal, etc.? I don't want to look bad in front of my friends. I've worked pretty hard in maintaining a flawless reputation and I don't want my feelings getting in the way.

In other words: I don't want to look like a "slut" or "easy" to other people. Will I?

Not always but most often, girls lead boys a year or so in maturity so in high school, one or maybe two years difference isn't bad either way. The object is to find someone at your own maturity level. If that is a guy a little younger than you I see nothing wrong with it and can't understand how anybody could see that as you being "easy."

The danger is when a young person wants to be seen as older and more worldly and becomes attracted to adults who take advantage of the younger person's vulnerability for sexual purposes. Those situations most often lead to disaster.

As my personal opinion I don't think a year or two's age difference in high school or secondary school etc really matters. Like your situation with a years difference is nothing, as long as your both happy there's no real problem. Don't worry about what others think. The only line I think there is if the age gap is TOO big you know? Like a 13 year old dating a 17 year old. :)

Lol no my first girlfriend was like 3 years older than me and nobody thought that was weird, well apart from me :/ lol
