A pneumatic system is a system that is driven by air pressure. A good example is pneumatic tools. Most often an electric compressor pumps up compressed air into a tank and the output air is fed to the tool by a pipe and/or a flexible air hose. To see a pneumatic system in action, stop by a tire shop and watch them remove the wheels from cars.

The tool has an internal turbine impeller that turns when air pressure is applied creating torque on the output shaft of the tool.
