why do movie makers use 3d technolgy?

Your two eyes (binocular vision) are capable of perceiving depth from the point where they converge on an object. Two dimensional views don't show depth.

Movie makers have been fascinated with different technologies for adding the third dimension for many years with varying degrees of success. They use 3D technology to make the view more like your natural vision. It's intended to add more reality to your movie experience.
