I am 21 years old and I have been on the depo provera contraceptive injection for eleven months now. Since I started it I have had continuous light bleeding and also bleeding during sex. I have missed my shot this month I was supposed to have it in the start of april and I haven't gone for it. Me and my fiance have always had unprotected sex and I took a pregnancy test today and it came out negative. Since I have missed my shot I have been experiencing period like cramps and the light bleeding is still occuring and a few days ago my vaginal area started itching and I have no idea why. Sex has also been a bit painful the last few days after sex it feels swollen down there and hurts a bit which has never happened. Why have I been bleeding on the shot and why are all these things happening since I have missed the shot this last month?
