Sports induced asthma?

I have sports induced asthma. I know before exercise I'm supposed to take a couple pumps but I was wondering if I could take it during. I'm going to start running a lot & whenever I run big distances, I start wheezing. Should I just bring my inhaler with me and if I start wheezing, use it? Is that safe? I'm afraid that if I just pump before, it won't be enough. Or should I pump before, & if I start wheezing use it again? Help. Thanks.

You should follow the directions of the doctor that prescribed the pump. If this issue wasn't discussed at that time, call their office and ask.
