Vaginal birth after cesarean. VBAC advice?

I'm 22 years old and have two children. My oldest is nearly 3 and my youngest just turned 1. They are both boys. My first son I delivered vaginally with few complications. Just a few tears. He was 7 lbs 8 ounces. My younger son I was in labor with and the doctor discovered that his chord was wrapped around his neck and we had to have a emergency c-section. He was 9 lbs 9 ounces. So in a way I'm glad he was cut out! lol. I would like to have one or two more children and do not want another c section. The closest doctor that will do a VBAC is a little over an hour away. I'm not pregnant yet, but planning on it soon. My c section went well, and the scar is where it should be. I know it is in my favor that I have delivered vaginally before. Has anyone else gone through one? I need some advice. They say VBAC patients can't be induced and only given certain pain medication. I don't think you can have an epidural. Any info would be nice!
Thank youuu!

I have no personal experience (besides friends who wanted VBAC then decided against the risk later in their pregnancies), but you could try chatting with a women's health professional for free at plannedparenthoodchat.org. That person might have info that could be helpful.

It is very dangerous to have a vaginal birth after you've already had a Caesarean section, because the incision could rip open, even if it was a long time ago. Most doctors would tell you the same.

The research I've done says there is only a .38 percent chance that your incision would rip. They say the chances of gettng hit by a car are higher.
The thing that goes wrong most is that the placenta ruptures. And even then it's like 1 in 1,000.

Wow. Given the number of babies that are born daily, 1 in 1000 seems like high odds.
