How do you vacuum seal bags without a vacuum with hose?

I'm a college student and I'm starting the packing process. I have two "Space Bags" but the only problem is that the vacuum that the school provides us with does not have a hose. I have tried putting the vacuum right on top of the bag with the hole, but that does work. I have thought about bringing the bags to a car wash to use the vacuums there, but that nearest car wash would not be worth it. Any suggestions?

Sorry, vacuum bags require vacuum (negative air pressure) to make them work. Look in a pawn shop, yard sale or used appliance store for an old vacuum that works and has a hose.
