How does having your Thyroid Removed affect your weight?

I was just diagnosed with Papillary Thyroid Cancer and have to have my Thyroid removed immediately to avoid spreading and growth. I know that it seems very superficial and believe me, Im not solely focused on this but I am curious as to how having your Thyroid Removed and having to take T meds the rest of your life affects your moods, weight and more! Any folks out there having experienced this and if so, what was the outcome? Thanks!

My daughter had her thyroid removed a few years ago and doesn't seem to have experienced any of the things you're concerned about.
