No, wear spikes! Honestly! I wore spikes in a race and I knocked off 3 seconds off my Pb which was from a week ago! The dude above obviously doesn't know running very well. Spikes do help in Wet conditions but that is not their main purpose. They are for speed as the shoes are light weight. And much lighter than regular trainers! for 1600 you should get 6MM Spikes and then get 4MM for The 800M and 400M. You get a special screw hammer, It screws on the spikes for you. It should be included in the pack of spikes you bought along with your spikes trainers. If they aren't you'll have to buy them separately! Good luck in your race!
