my dog got hurt last night on her back paw&she won't put weight on it so does that mean its broken or could it be sprained?

My dog hurt her back paw or foot and won't put weight on it is it broke or could it be sprained
It could be either one or both. If it is broken her leg will move into positions dogs aren't normally able to get their legs into. If you gently squeeze up and down her leg, she will let you know where it hurts.
