I'm having to do a self-guided research project in school. My group decided to do eating disorders. I want to know how bulimics lose weight.
As far as I have researched, purging food inst a successful method to losing weight as calories get absorbed anyways. Is it because they throw up fast enough before their food is completely digested? Like maybe they purge up solids before they're liquefied and still look the same as they did going down, preventing calorie absorption?
This would look very good on my project, and I'm also just curious myself! Helpful answers are much appreciated.
