Was my dad right for doing this?

My sister is 15. She has A field trip to cedar point may 29th. She is failing two classes right now and didn't bother doing the one project. Her grades are low you can't make it up. Anyways my dad paid $90 for her to go. My mom doesn't think she deserves to go at all and is pissed that my dad even considered it. She is a smart allic and talks back and swears ALOT to my mom. So my dad said she has to do CHORES to EARN her right to go because he saw she failed two classes and is rethinking it. She has NEVER dome a chore in her life. Tonights chore is to have clothes put away (she throws clean/dirty ones on the floor), pick up her room (can't see floor) and clean the bathroom. She has till 9:30pm, it's now 6:57pm and she hasn't started. She's complaining it's to hot in her room. Do you think she will still go? Would you let her?

Yes I would let her go without making her do chores. Can't you help her out so she can go? And no I wouldn't say he was right for doing this.

I agree with your Dad and footballisgreat. She's 15. She's old enough to be responsible enough to do chores, watch her mouth, and earn her extras. Trips, etc. aren't an entitlement. You could help her.... but if she doesn't get it together, you could be cleaning up your sisters messes for the rest of your lives...
