How can I get good grades?

I really need to get good grades from now on.Most of my primary school years I got(fairly) good grades, until 6th grade thats when my grades were just collapsing dramatically.So, I just want to know how I can get good grades.But also without having to be constantly studying and revising, so I can stil have time for my extra-curricular activities.My reason for wanting good grades is because overall its just better.Firstly, why have bad grades when you can get good grades?, it can also really helps when things like scholarships/college/jobs and stuff come around. Secondly, my mum says theres a reward(which is probably a bad reason to want good grades) that comes with it..So yeah thats why..Sorry for the long pointless description....Also whats a suitable bed time for a 12 y/o that wakes up at 7:00 am for school? a bed time that gives enough rest?

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION; I'm 12 years old and in 7th grade and not that it matters but i'm a girl :)

All help will be much appreciated :) .. Thanks for your answers! x

You're a very intelligent girl, I am sure you can get great grades in school and college. Also more important than grades is choosing a career path that is truly interesting to you.

Getting good grades is simple. You need to pay attention in class and make notes. Then when you come home, review those notes and check out things you don't understand in the textbook. If you still have doubts make a list of them and ask your teacher. Stay upto speed with what is taught in class. Do your homework and never hesitate to ask your teacher questions. Study extra for midterms, tests, exams etc. Try having a group of good students to study with in subjects you are weak in. Discussion, meeting, solving problems together really helps understand the subject. But this is optional and not really necessary at your present level.

9:30 pm is a good time for you to sleep so you can wake up refreshed for school.

I really hope this helps you and if you have any more questions just leave a comment for me under this answer. Good luck! Btw have you thought about what you would like to be when you grow up? Helps to figure that out as your choices in school and college will have to be based on that. All right, take care.

MohitMago;
I'm not smart.Thanks! i'll try everything you suggested! Yes I think 9:30 is a suitable time! I havent really given much thought about my career path but, I have considered the things here: Forensic examiner/scientist,humanitarian,environmentalist,anthropologist,zoologist,archeologist,biologist,nure,artist(i absolutely love art&design),lawyer,police/cop, someone in the music industry and/or fashion industry.Maybe even a bourgeois career but not certain.
Thanks for your help! :)

Yes you are right you're not smart. You're super smart and you're only 12, you will get smarter and smarter. Along with academics do consider joining a high iq society which interests you (it will look good on your resume too).

I'd suggest going for environmentalist but its your choice entirely. That seems like a peaceful and fun job to me and I am guessing it will allow you to spend time in nature which is always better than being behind a desk all day. You're welcome for the help and if you have any more queries don't hesitate to ask through this page. Trust me I have seen a lot of people through this site and others and you are among the smartest if not the smartest so be proud of it. Don't sell yourself short. Bye.
