Do they still read these classic books in school? If so, are they the original Old English versions, or are they reading newer, modified versions? Thank you!!!

Do kids in 4th to 6th grades still read classic books? like tom sawyer, little women, etc.?
Unless things have changed since my brother was that age in the 2000s, then yes they are and the books are in the original Old English.
