Can I get get pregnant 2-3 days before my period?

I had sex with my husband 2 days before my expected period. we are trying for another baby so he ejaculated inside. my periods are not irregular they come every 26 days on the dot im day 2 without a period. I took a pregnancy test it was negative however I read somewhere that if you got pregnant near the time of your period you could miss your period but not have enough hcg in your urine to detect a pregnancy untill a week after a missed period. is this true? anyone know that answer?

Pregnancy tests like you buy at the pharmacy are more accurate the longer the period of time after conception. If a second test is negative after ten days that would be a good indicator that you are not pregnant.

"Most" women ovulate about 14 days before the start of their period. The best way to get pregnant is to have sex when you're ovulating. You can figure that out by taking an ovulation test, or by perfecting the methods for ovulation prediction taught here: http://www.tcoyf.com/.
