Yes, working out outdoors in the fresh air beats working out indoors but I recommend you do cardio like running, cycling outdoors and weight training indoors.
Also, eat plenty of fruits everyday and have a raw veggie salad everyday along with what else you are eating. Drink lots of water.
it doesn't have to be hard or intense exercise. You can go hiking with your friends and even that will benefit you a lot, maybe even more than exercise. Engage in a variety of healthy activities.
