Should animals be kept in zoos

Do you think its right for animals to be kept in zoos? Do the advantages outweight the disadvantages? What do you think the advantages and disadvantages are?

If people must view wildlife, it works much better to keep the people in a caged area and let the animals roam free in their natural world. In that arrangement, the people have the freedom to leave when the wish but in a zoo, animals don't.

No, its wrong to imprison animals for the entertainment of the public. But the advantage is people get to see animals they otherwise wouldn't like lions, tigers, monkeys etc.
