Someone please help!

So me and my ex boyfriend broke up about 5 months ago. I broke up with him because he just stopped trying. We never really got a clean break from each other and it ended kinda messy. We recently have talked as friends and he brought up how he went on a date and was sorry and explained he shouldn't be in a relationship but that we could happen again just not for awhile... What does that mean? Is he saying he wants to get back together and that he still likes me? We were together for almost a year. HELP!! Btw I'm 17 and a junior in HS and he is 18 and graduated last year, if that helps any!

Generally speaking, it's not a good idea to put your life on hold for another person... especially someone who's dating someone else. What he said means he's asking you to be on hold and wait for him while he's with someone else. If he wants to be with you more than this other girl, he would put you first. He's exploring his options; why would you wait around to be the backup plan?

Let him be the one to wait around and hope you'll be available and interested later when he's single again. Keep it moving.....

it means that he is still having some feeling for you.if you dont have any such feeling towards him then make it clear to him about it.then tell him that its very fine if he is dating others.

He said he could be with you but not now. It means he is with the other girl but he wants to be with you.
