If a cop does not give you ticket are you off the hook?

Me and my boyfriend were sitting in his car in a park around 7pm. He was in the backseat and I was in the front seat. The cop asked how old we were (19 and 18) and were we lived but not our exact address. We weren't doing anything and were fully dressed and he did not write us a ticket or anything but did follow us part way home. Do you think we're off the hook? My boyfriend is freaking out over this but if he did not arrest us for being in the park after hours and didn't not write him a ticket doesn't that mean we're safe? We honestly didn't know we were not allowed in there and just used the bathrooms but it looked pretty bad with him in the backseat I guess.

If you were not violating the law, there is no reason for you to be arrested. If the officer intended to arrest or ticket you for anything, it would have happened right there and then. You're off the hook.
