How do I transfer individual photo folders from sd card to ipad

How to transfer photo folders from an sd card as photo FOLDERS on ipad?Currently When I transfer, the ipad displays all photos transferred without folders which make it impossible to find one photo amongst thousands...?(I am using a camera connection kit and want a method that does not require access to an Internet connection).
