Often the best answers come from people with an entirely different background because they look at the problem from a perspective we haven't yet considered. The object is to search for the truth, not for affirmation of what you already believe.

Percentage of the world's population by religions

Christian 33.35%
----Roman Catholic 16.83%,
----Protestant 6.08%
----Orthodox 4.03%
----Anglican 1.26%)
Muslim 22.43%
Hindu 13.78%
Buddhist 7.13%,
Sikh 0.36%
Jewish 0.21%
Baha’i 0.11%
Other religions 11.17%
non-religious 9.42%

you would think there would be a larger amount of athiest and non-religous but arent they one in the same?
Kiruse Feb 12, 2013
Atheists believe there is no God but some people don't put a label on themselves rather they just say they don't have an opinion.

Counting the people who are active in churches is fairly easy but many people consider themselves of a specific faith but don't participate. I'm sure there is some slack in the numbers above depending on how that data is collected.

Or however you spell it
I am not religious, but my beliefs are in agnostic atheism. I do not personally believe in a god(s), but I don't not feel like it can be proven either way. I feel religion involves alot of faith...that I do not have. I am open to any religion, and will not shove my own beliefs down other people's throats.
Answered May 17, 2013
I know it isn't a religion. I just posted my belief I didn't know if you were looking for that as well.
hey guys, don't -1 the atheist, A true christian would treat other people with different point of views the same as we treat our brothers. if u r not in the same mind with these people, keep it cool, there's no need to dislike them :},

I'm a Christian. I don't like that title, though. I think that instead of religion, people should have beliefs. Of course if they believe in religion that's okay, too, but personally I am not religious. I am a believer. I believe in God. I believe He lives inside of the hearts of those who believe in them. I believe in Heaven. I believe in freedom. I believe in equality. I believe in non-conformity. I believe in hope. I believe in dragons. I believe in the unknown. I treat my beliefs as if they are my religion. I live by these principles. I live by beliefs, if that makes any sense.

i was a christian until I was old enough to understand science, and think for myself logically, now I am an atheist.
Answered May 16, 2013
Well that's a stupid reason for converting, especially since points out that there IS a God and just most men try to cover it up with lies. But thanks for answering the question

Did you know that the bible and science support each other on many things? Some examples: Man thought at one point that the earth was flat. But in the eighth century B.C.E., Isaiah clearly referred to the earth as a "circle" or sphere at Isaiah 40:22. Many believed that the earth was hanging from something. But Job 26:7 stated some 3500 years ago that the earth was "hanging upon nothing." Also written about 1500 B.C.E., the Mosaic Law contained sound laws regarding quarantining of the sick Leviticus 13:1-5, treatment of dead bodies Numbers 19:11-13 and disposal of waste Deuteronomy 23:13-14. Through the years science has showed the many diseases that these things can bring. The bible also talks about the water cycle at Job 36:27-28 when it says: "he draws up the drops of water, they condense into the rain of his mist, then the clouds pour it down, they shower down upon mankind."
Probably gonna get down voted for this. But meh. I am an Atheist. But I like and respect other religions. I only question peoples beliefs if they question mine. Even then I try to have a well and mature conversation with them. Please stop -1ing the Atheists. It shows hate and intolerance which some Christians really hate as well as members from other religions. To show respect your beliefs il plus 1 everyone's answer here. Please stop oppression against not just atheists but religions of the world.

Religion are like different paths that makes us people move toward a single goal that is GOD.

So whatever path u take does not bother. If u look into religion in greater detail all will look same.
One more thing religion was created by human beings not GOD.
And who created whom GOD Created us or we created him?

Don't waste your time to think that but live your life that is important

I am Hindu and I respect all religions.

I am christian (I think) I mean I only believe about 60% of what the bible says because people are just reciting gods word therefore it cannot logicly be 100% accurate I do believe in god and have faith.
Also I don't care what religion other people are (I could be friends with an athiest just as easy as I could a fellow christian) as long as we can respect eachothers beliefs.
I actually see this on the internet in chat romms quite often people arguing in chat rooms
"God isn't real!"
"yes he is real look at these bible verses for evidence!"
"he's right god is real but those verses are from the wrong religion!"
see what I mean? Why can't we all just respect eachother's beliefs?
