I am having problems retaining information in my french course, am I just burnt out?

I am currently a junior in high school and had a very good french 1 where I was 4th in my school. I have now moved and my new school has a very slow language program. In french 2 we pretty much did nothing and by the time I got to french 3 I had pretty much forgotten everything. I am now in french 4, still working out of a french 1 book, and I feel like no matter how hard I try I just cannot remember the information. It really bothers be because I was so good at one point. Do you think I might just be burnt out? Why do you think I am having such problems?

Well for starters I'm assuming you mean " burnt out" because you smoke pot.
There's nothing wrong with that but it does affect your concentration, short term memory and over all motivation.
Second if you're still working on French 1 it's not smart to try and learn so far ahead if you're not even finished with basics.
You'll just have to do extra studying and in time it will stick. Maybe try a tutor.
