why dont you want to live with your parents? are they abusing you?
yes they have been

It depends on where you live. Talk to your school guidance counselor. S/he should be familiar with social services in your area.

i did and she wants me to stay with my family and I havent felt happy since 3rd grade and not trying to sound really depressed ive been thinking of commiting suicide for 5 years

Then contact your local social services office and talk to them. They will only remove you if there is cause according to their policies/standards.

In the meantime, do your best in school to try to set yourself up to have opportunities to get away when you're 18. If there's any way you can go to college, that would be great. Stay focused on your goal of putting yourself in the best position to be able to care for yourself at a level higher than just basic survival. Don't waste time on anything that doesn't contribute to that goal.

You'll be 18 soon, and then you technically can be on your own. Suicide isn't the answer.
i have contacted ny social services and they dont offer me anything I am being honest with you there. and I wont commit suicide it just has been in my mind for way too long

It's shocking that your guidance counselor and social services won't intervene if you say you're being abused.

You can call the number at the National Children's Advocacy Center and talk to them about what your options could be:
1-800-4ACHILD (800-422-4453)

thank you

As skyDancer suggests, talk to social services about why you feel you want to live somewhere else. Also understand that foster care isn't your choice. In order for you to be eligible, there has to be evidence that your parents are doing something wrong and the decision to place you there is made by social services, not you.
